South Sound Fishing Report...

John Keizer's web page

I've got to tell you this has been the best fishing in the south sound I can
remember in the past 10 years.
I have not come back to the dock since July 20 with out limiting the boat
on chinook. That includes running 2 trips a day in the middle of August.
For example today I had 3 clients we fished from 6am to 1 p.m. had 10 fish
to the boat and kept 4 kings from 10-18 pounds. Yes in the South Sound!
Here is what you need to know to score on these fish,
Green HotSpot glow flasher, 37-40 inches of leader to a blue or green

Grand Slam Bucktail.

I'm still fishing the Pt. Defiance area, almost all the fish have been
between 40-65 ft. deep on the riggers. Troll the 90-120 water.
Going to deep for migratory fish and you will come home empty.
Also the Nisqually Delta area has still been producing well around the
green can, jigging and mooching herring seems the best tactic here.
I don't expect this fishery to last much longer, one good rain and it will
be back to coho & blackmouth.
Hey when the 696 passes, fishing can be this great throughout the state.
 Thanks.. John Keizer
